Maxine Frances Alphin Cormier, 78, of Port Acres passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Bonne Vie Nursing Home in Port Arthur.
She was born on October 22, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Roland O. Alphin, Sr. and Inez G. Hingle Alphin. Maxine was a longtime resident of the Port Acres area and a member of St. Therese, The Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. She graduated from Stephan F. Austin High School in 1963. Maxine worked as a Consultant with her daughter, Jacquelyn at Interior Sources by Jacquelyn for 29 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Roland Alphin, Jr. and her husband, Donald James Cormier.
Maxine is survived by her children, Jacquelyn Prevost and husband Tommy of Port Neches, Derrick Cormier and wife Christin of Conroe, Texas,; two grandchildren, Emersyn Prevost of Port Neches, Joseph Francis Cormier of Conroe; sister-in-love, Shirley Alphin Adams and husband Paul, her earthly angels, Rick Alphin and wife Cindy of Hemphill, Texas, Vicky Alphin Johnson and husband David of Destin, Florida, Wendy Alphin Frederick and husband Darold of Hockley, Texas along with multiple nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres with Rev. Rejimon George serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
