Maria De Jesus Marroquin Martinez

February 11, 1937 — January 13, 2024

Maria De Jesus Marroquin Martinez, known endearingly as "Jesusita", 86, of Port Arthur passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Jesusita was born in Allende N.L., Mexico to Ramon Martinez and Maria Magdalena Escamilla.

Jesusita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a hot pot of coffee and a good story always ready to share. Her delicious food was cooked with deep love and tradition and she never missed an opportunity to pass along her perfected recipes - or her wisdom. She was well known for being nurturing, giving selflessly, and holding endlessly strong in her faith. Her spirit, much like the beautiful plants she enjoyed tending to, was full of life and joy. Jesusita will be missed by all who were fortunate to have had her in their lives - as a devoted mother, loving wife, caring sister, and the most resilient but gentle woman.

Jesusita is preceded in death by her husband Gilberto Marroquin, son Ramon Marroquin, son Jesus Martin, sister Isabel Martinez, sister Irene Martinez, and sister Amalia Martinez. She is survived by her sister Conception Martinez, brother Efrain Martinez, daughter Juanita Ocañas Martinez, daughter Maria de Jesus Marroquin Martinez and her husband Oscar Salazar, son Gilbert Marroquin and his wife Marisela Marroquin, daughter Irma Marroquin, daughter Josefina Sanchez and her husband Juan Sanchez, son Edmundo Marroquin and his wife Michelle Marroquin, daughter Rosalinda Oswald and her husband David L. Oswald, 19 grandchildren: Gabriel Llanes, Mayra Llanes, Omar Llanes, Adrian Llanes, Alan Martinez, Abraham Salazar, Celene Salazar, April Marroquin, Claudia Marroquin, Ramon Sanchez, John Sanchez, Joseph Sanchez, Jacqueline Marroquin, Laurel Marroquin, Denise Marroquin, Matthew Marroquin, David R.
