Loretta Marie Cross

Loretta Marie Foote Cross, 88, of Baytown and former resident of Port Arthur passed away on July 4, 2023 at Mont Belvieu Rehabilitation Center in Baytown.

She was born on August 1, 1934 in Port Arthur, Texas to Newton I. Foote, Sr. and Hazel Suit Foote. Loretta was a resident of the Port Arthur area for 80 years before moving to Baytown in 2014. She was a devoted homemaker in raising her family along with her husband, Carlton.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her three brothers, Newton I. Foote, Jr., Kenneth Foote and Ralph Foote; her husband, Carlton E. Cross and her son, Billy C. Cross.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Cross of Hutto, Texas and Jeannine Cross of Baytown, Texas; her grandchildren, Scott Perez, Sarah Watson and Courtney Smith (Jason); her great grandchildren, Tanner Hollum, Addison Watson and Aubrey Watson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Dolores Montondon of Bridge City and Charlotte Holstead of Meadow Place, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Faith Community Hospice of Baytown for their excellent care given to Loretta.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 12:30 PM till 2:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Private graveside service will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
