Lois Evelyn Walker

Lois Evelyn Walker, 100, of Beaumont, formerly of Port Arthur, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Collier Park Assisted Living.

Lois was born on December 31, 1922 in El Campo, Texas to parents Lora (Langdon) and Erick T. Carlquist. Lois moved to Port Arthur with her parents in 1923 and she was an active member of First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, cooking for family and friends and traveling with her husband. Lois was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erick and Lora Carlquist, her husband in 2004, David Nicholas Walker and her brother, Bruce W. Carlquist.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Darlene Williams and her husband, James of Beaumont, Glenda Hebert and her husband, Mike of College Station, her four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM in Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 10:00 AM until service time. Pastor Michael Procella with Accent Hospice will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

A special thanks for all the caregivers at Collier Park, with a special thank you to her private caregivers Tina Gaines and Gwen Boyd.

Honoring Lois as pallbearers will be Jonathan Daugbjerg, James Williams, Michael Hebert, Scott Williams, Shaun Hebert and Fred Kruttlin.
