Lily Mae Depew

Lily Depew, 86, died on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on February 25, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas.

In September 1961, her sister Annie passed away at the age of 27 and she became the legal guardian to Annie's 2 children, Clifford Merrill and Lilly Jo Merrill.

Lily married Glenn Depew, the love of her life in 1976.They travelled together and cherished their lives together for 30 years.

Glen Depew passed away on June 6, 2006. Also on the same day 12 hours apart, her mother Josephine passed away. She suffered a double heartache but her faith was strong and she endured the journey.

She then devoted her life taking care of her dog "Lucky Boy" until he died 3 years later. Then she finds her new baby "JJ" and devoted the rest her life taking care of him, he was her everything.

Her greatest joy was cooking pasta for the family, going to the beauty shop on Friday and coming home to see 'JJ" waiting for her.

We are all blessed she was in our lives and she will be missed forever.

She preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Graffagnino, spouse, Glenn Depew, 10 siblings and nephew, Clifford Merrill. Also including her fur babies, Troubles, Lucky and JJ.

She is survived by her sister, Josie and her husband, George Dearing of Clear Lake, Texas, her niece, Lilly Jo Merrill and many other nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a gathering of family and friends from 10 AM until service time. Cremation was entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
