Larrabee “Larry” M. Thompson, 71, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
He was born on November 13, 1947 to his parents, Bryan Thompson and Jocelyn Borden Thompson in Roatan, Honduras. Larry has been a resident of Port Arthur for over 60 years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1967. Larry proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Total Refinery in Port Arthur as a shift supervisor after 37 years of service. Larry enjoyed fishing and was an avid golf player.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mona Jones Thompson of Port Arthur, his two daughters, Kylie Thompson of Port Arthur, Heather Meaux and her husband, James of Orange, his three grandchildren, Peyton Juarez, Rylan Meaux and Torin Meaux. He is also survived by his sister, Josie Mearns of Liberty, his two brothers, Wadsworth Thompson and his wife, Esther of Groves, Bryan Thompson and his wife, Beth of Groves along with Numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 5 PM till 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Larry’s Life will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with military honors will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
