John Angelo Saenz, Sr. , 86 of Nederland, Texas passed away on October 28, 2019. Angelo was born in Port Arthur,Texas to Charles Saenz Sr. and Rosa Sepeda Saenz.
Angelo served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Theresa Hernandez Saenz in 1953 and they would have been married for 66 years on November 26 th of this years. He retired in 1993 from the City of Port Arthur with 27 years of service as a Automotive Diesel Mechanic.
Angelo was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson, Michael Jacob Saenz, great granddaughter, Rosie Guidry, brother, Charles Saenz, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Dana Saenz.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Theresa H. Saenz of Nederland, his two daughter, Rose Hudgins and husband, Ben of Port Arthur, Karen Massaro and husband, J. P. of Rhode Island, his two sons, John Saenz, Jr. and the late Dana Saenz of Bridge City, Shane Saenz and wife, Juliet whom he lived with of Nederland, his six grandchildren, Will Guidry, Jr. and wife, Ann, Carrissa Saenz, Kyler and Kobi Massaro, Jessica and Aaron Saenz, five great grandchildren, Bryce Guidry, Colette Guidry, Carmela Castaneda, Brentley Roy and Broxton Saenz and his godson, Santos Maldonado.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Angelo’s life will be at 1:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2019 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
