Jo Ann Bartlett Hunter

Jo Ann Bartlett Hunter, 88, of Groves passed away on Monday, April 4, 2023 at Magnolia Mannor Nursing Home in Groves.

Jo Ann was born on September 10, 1934 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Vivian (Viator) and Luther Bartlett. She had lived in the Groves area for 58 plus years and she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Jo Ann enjoyed working in her garden (she loved growing flowers) cooking for her family and in her younger years sewing. Jo Ann was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years in 2012, Mark E. Hunter.

Jo Ann is survived by her sons, Glenn Davis and his wife, Debra of Jasper, John Jay Teller of Evadale, her daughter, Peggy Peterson and her husband, Roger of San Antonio, her brother, Melvin Bartlett of Nederland, her step sisters, Sylvia Duhe, Barbara Dugas and Linda Dorian. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Terrell Keith Davis, Janette Tweedel, John Jay Teller, Kathryn Teller, Hope Teller, Jacob LeMaier, Joey LeMaier, John Wayne Richard and three great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Service arrangements are with Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
