James Thibodeaux, 88, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
He was born on June 1, 1930 to his parents, Addie Thibodeaux and Germaine Guidry Thibodeaux in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. James graduated from Breaux Bridge High School. He served in the National Guard in Louisiana. James has been a resident of the Port Arthur area for 66 years. He retired from Texaco as a supervisor in the Construction department with 34 years of service. James was an Honorary Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3195 and a member of St. Therese, Little Flowers of Jesus Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Rita Mae Breaux, his grandsons, Shaun Landry and Josh McElroy.
James is survived by his wife, Verna Thibodeaux of Port Arthur, his daughters, Gail Abshire and her husband, Ricky of Port Arthur, Diane Landry and her husband, Randy of Crystal Beach, Donna LeMaire of Groves, his son, Eddy Thibodeaux and his wife, Priscilla of LaBelle, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Margie Lanerie of Abbeville, LA. along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 9:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor James life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Rejimon George, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy McElroy, Kane Segura, Jaime Abshire, Johnson Adams, Drake Landry, Gary Breaux with Tristan Abshire and Hunter Adams serving as honorary pallbearers.
In Lieu of flowers, family request donations to the Alzheimars Association or to St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in memory of James.
