James Keith Hensarling

James Keith Hensarling, 65, of Beauxart Gardens passed away on August 27, 2024 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

He was born on September 21, 1958 in Port Arthur, Texas to Theresa Marie Gennuso Hensarling and James Truman Hensarling.  Keith was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1977.  He worked in the grocery business for several years before joining his father in operating J.T.’s Work Clothes, a safety clothing shop serving the Golden Triangle area.  Keith took ownership of the business when his father passed away and was joined by his brother, Ken, to continue running the family business. Keith retired, closing the business, after serving the area for over 25 years.

Keith was passionate about many things; martial arts movies, Elvis Presley, teaching his nieces and nephews to drive a stick shift, telling stories, his and everyone’s pets, just to name a few.

Keith was affectionately known as the fun uncle by his nieces and nephews and their friends.  He loved spending time with his family and friends, whether it be holiday gatherings or Sunday football games cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. Keith never met a stranger.  He would walk up to anyone, shake their hand introducing himself and strike up a conversation. Keith had a generous heart, always willing to help anyone anyway he could.  His infectious laugh will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Keith is survived by his brother, Ken Hensarling of Beauxart Gardens; his two sisters, Theresa Teague of Groves and Debra Simon of Hamshire, along with numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.  A visitation will be on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Memorial Service to celebrate Keith's life will follow at 2:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson.
