Irene Fleming, 95, former resident of Port Arthur passed away peacefully on February 28, 2021 at her son’s home. She was born to Charles and Julia Strauss in Vsetin, Texas. She graduated from Baldwin Business College and worked for Texaco refinery and then retired from Port Arthur school district. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran church and enjoyed working at United Board of Missions and with Camp Fire Girls.
Her survivors include her children, James P. Fleming and his wife , Vickie of Spring; Karen Satterly and her husband , Clint, of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Melissa Allard and her husband Michael of Houston, Lydia Franklin of The Woodlands; Jared Satterly and his wife Kelly of Edmond ,Oklahoma; Karisa Satterly of Spring, eleven great grandchildren; her sister, Ida Trojcak; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband James L. Fleming, her twin son Charles, her brothers: Clarence, Edward and Daniel Strauss.
The safety of family and friends is important. Therefore, a small private family service for Irene will take place to celebrate her life.
