Hattie C. Borel, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7,2024. Born on July 7,1935, in Port Arthur, Texas, Hattie embraced life with warmth generosity, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.

She was a devout Christian and throughout her life, Hattie demonstrated a remarkable ability to connect with others. Her career spanned various roles, including managing a candy store in the mall, seamstress and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Hattie's natural affinity for helping others and her enjoyment of human connection made her a standout in the retail industry, where she thrived and built lasting friendships.

Hattie's love for people extended beyond her professional endeavors; she relished the friendships she cultivated and consistently offered support to those around her. Her compassionate nature and willingness to help others reflected her steadfast belief in the importance of friendships and connections. As a devoted caretaker for her husband Charles Lawrence Borel, Hattie showcased her deep commitment to family.

Hattie had a myriad of hobbies that showcased her creativity and passion for learning. She found joy in crafting, sewing, jigsaw puzzles, card games and fabric painting, and was an avid reader, loved crossword and sudoku puzzles, enriching her mind and spirit through literature. Her interests provided a lifelong source of enjoyment and fulfillment.

She is survived by her children: Linda Arledge of Baytown, Texas; Ronnie Arledge of Lufkin, Texas; Lois Metts of Bridge City, Texas; James Arledge and his wife Connie of New Braunfels, Texas; and Robb Borel and his wife Glynis of Spring, Texas. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Corinne (Stewts) Crittenden and Lloyd Crittenden; her beloved husband, Charles Lawrence Borel; and her son, David Milazzo.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home located at 5601 39th St., Groves, Texas. A Celebration of Life for Hattie Borel will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Hattie C. Borel will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, and her unwavering commitment to family and friends. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
