Genevieve Gallagher

Genevieve Gallagher, 95, of Plano, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at her home.

She was born on July 10, 1923, to her parents, Patrick James Gallagher and Clarice Petifils Gallagher in Port Arthur, Texas. She was raised and was a long time resident of Port Arthur. Genevieve was a member of St. James Catholic Church for many years, attended St. James Catholic School, Port Arthur Business College and Lamar University. Genevieve retired, May 1, 1980, from Neches Butane as an Executive Administrative Assistant with almost 35 years of service. After retiring she lived in Houston for many years, and she was an instrumental and valued volunteer at Casa De Esperanza from its inception, devoting her time to lovingly caring for and nurturing children in need. The past seven years Genevieve has been living in Plano, TX with her niece, Denise Borel.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Patricia Gallagher Borel and her brothers, Michael and Patrick Gallagher.

She is survived by and was very much loved by her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at ClaytonThompson Funeral Directors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
