Frances Hebert

Mary Frances Hebert, 98, of Port Acres passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born on October 13, 1921 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Lena (Chroeder) and Otto Kattner. She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. Frances graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and she received a Bachelor Degree in Education in the late 60's from Lamar University, after her husband's passing while raising four children. Frances retired from Beaumont State Center as a Special Education Teacher, after many years of service. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden, cutting the grass, cooking for family and friends and she loved to travel. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all. She was known as "Grandma" to everyone that entered her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Lena Kattner, her husband, Leo Francis Hebert Sr., her son, Neil Ray Hebert, her brothers, Alfred Kattner, Raymond, Kattner, her sister, Lorena Reese-Taylor and her son in law, Stanley Wayne Rising.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Susan Lorena Rising of Port Arthur, her sons, Cass Alan Hebert and his wife, Joan of Sour Lake, Leo Francis Hebert Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Port Arthur. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Robin Rising, Bodre Rising, Melissa Brunett, Neil Hebert, Jason Hebert, Aaron Hebert, Chase Hebert and her nine great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Honoring Frances as pallbearers will be, Bodre Rising, Jason Hebert, Neil Hebert, Aaron Hebert, Chase Hebert and Brennan Hebert.

The family wishes to thank Marion Tompkins, Visiting Angels and Harbor Hospice for their loving care.

Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently in, all visitors to the funeral home are required to wear facemask or coverings and practice social distancing as mandated by State and County officials.
