Evelyn Kathleen Gauthier, 93, of Port Neches passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Medical Center of Texas.
Evelyn was born on February 21, 1927 at home in Venus, Texas to parents Sylvia (Mcelhaney) and Cecil Majors Sr. She had lived in Port Neches since 1996, prior in Port Arthur, Sam Rayburn and Groves. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur and she was owner and operator of Evelyn Beauty Salon. Evelyn enjoyed working in her flower gardens, going to the casinos, playing bingo and playing cards with her friends. Evelyn was a great cook and she loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Sylvia Majors Sr., her husband, Marc Herman Gauthier Sr., her brother, Cecil Majors Jr., her sisters, Juanita Borque, Louis Coleman and Ruth Schoenberg.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Marc Herman Gauthier Jr and his wife, Julie of Groves, her daughter, Kathy Lea Gray and her husband, James of Katy, her brother, Roger Dale Majors and his wife, Delores of Groves, her sister, Doris Thomas of Alvarado. She is also survived by her four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 05, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis we are currently in, all visitors to the funeral home are required to wear facemask or coverings and practice social distancing as mandated by State and County officials.
