Dora Elia Trevino Pompa, 74, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
She was born on July 9, 1947 in Palau, Coahuila, Mexico to her parents, Jose Pompa and Margarita Pompa Torres. Dora has been a resident of the area since she was 16 years old. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Her grandchildren and her great granddaughter were her pride and joy. She was known for her generosity and loving ways towards friends, family and anyone who had the privilege of crossing her path. Her faith in God never waivered, even in her most difficult moments. Her loving heart and contagious smile are attributes that will never be forgotten. Dora was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a member of Damas Guadalupanas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rosendo Pompa and brother-in-law, Alfonso DeLaFuente.
Dora is survived by her husband, Modesto Trevino of Mexico; her four daughters, Maria Antonia Trevino Clack of Nederland, Romelia Briones and her husband, Enoc of Port Arthur, Brenda Trevino and her husband, Francisco Najera of Groves, Griselda Flores and her husband, Josue of Port Arthur; her son, Horacio Trevino and his wife, Teresa of Nederland; her thirteen grandchildren, Enoc Jose Briones, Nathan Briones, Jeremy Briones, Taylor Trevino, Kaleb Allan Trevino, Chelsea Nicole Clack, Christopher Mathew Clack, Mia Isabella Trevino, Alianna Grace Flores, Demi Alana Rodriguez, Bria Leann Flores, Ava Elia Trevino and Caden John Clack; one great granddaughter, Kahlani Alaina Briones. She is also survived by her sisters, Alicia Pompa and Ludivina DeLaFuente both of Port Arthur; her six brothers, Osbaldo Pompa and his wife, Sarai of Groves, Jesus Pompa and his wife, Luisa of Corpus Christi, Arnulfo Pompa and his wife, Santa of Port Arthur, Jose Pompa and his wife, Graciela of LaBelle, Abelardo Pompa and his wife, San Juana of Port Arthur, Carlos Pompa and his wife, Carmela of Port Neches along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 15, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 PM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur, with visitations allowed prior to the mass at the funeral home. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Directors.
