Dolores De Hoyos Castro

Dolores De Hoyos Castro, 80, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

She was born on May 20, 1939 to her parents, Rodolfo De Hoyos and Juanita Martinez in Mexico. Dolores has been a resident of the area since 1980, former resident of Crystal Springs, Texas. She was a devoted housewife in raising her family along with her husband, Eloy Castro. She was a member of Templo Shalom.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Pedro De Hoyos, brother-in-law, Amano Rosas and her husband, Eloy Castro.

Dolores is surived by her two daughters, Alma Contreras and husband, Aaron of Port Arthur, Angelica Guerrero and husband, Benny of Groves, her five sons, Fernando Castro and wife, Gloria of Port Arthur, Raul Castro and wife, Laura of Port Arthur, Dagoberto Castro and wife, Ruth of Groves, Eloy Castro and wife, Celia of Port Arthur, Gil Castro and wife, Norma of Port Arthur, 24 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

She also leaves behind four sisters, Rosa Sanchez and husband, Rene of Texas City, Blanca Flores and husband, Virgilio of Port Neches, Rita De Hoyos of Mexico, Janie Garza and husband, Raymond of Victoria, her brother, Vicente De Hoyos and wife, Tina of Carrizo Springs along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 2:00 PM till 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Service to honor Dolores’s life will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Clayton Thompson with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
