David Wilson Guilbeau, 60 of Groves passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
He was born on August 28, 1962 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Dudley A. Guilbeau and Christine Richard Guilbeau. David was a lifelong resident of Groves, graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1979. He worked as an electrician for over 40 years, began his career with Gulf States Utilities and Entergy and then with IBEW Local 479. David was a former member of the Groves Knights of Columbus and a member of Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his father; his sister, Dolores Pellerin; his brother, Kenneth Guilbeau and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Wright.
David is survived by his mother, Christine Guilbeau of Groves; his three daughters, Alicia Bennett and husband Michael of Port Neches, Rachelle Cormier and husband Willie of Nederland, Mecaela Houston of Tomball; his son, Michael Guilbeau of Nederland along with his grandchildren, Zayd Tatum, Azlynn Fischer, Ethan Bennett, Sebastian Cormier, Lillian Houston, Piper Houston, Mack Houston, Charlotte Houston, Witten Guilbeau, Koy Guilbeau and Kaydin Guilbeau. He is also survived by his two sisters, Gail Wright of Orange, Karen Wood and husband Todd of Lumberton; his two brothers, Steven Guilbeau and wife Sandra of Fannett, Kurt Guilbeau and wife Denise of Groves as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, August 7, 2023 at Immaculate Conception/St. Peter Catholic Church with Rev. J. C. Coon serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
