Darrel Ray Blackwell

Darrel Ray Blackwell, 63, of Groves passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at his home.

Darrel was born on April 7, 1961 in Berwick, Louisiana to parents Paula Karen (Crawford) and George Wesley Blackwell Jr. He had lived in Southeast Texas for many years. He was a electrician, working and retiring from M & I Electric in Beaumont. Darrel enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson and in his young years going fishing. Darrel was a loving person who will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Blackwell Jr. and Paula Blackwell, his loving wife, Wendy Blackwell on March 29, 2024, his son, Seth Blackwell on February 8, 2024, his sibling, Paul Wesley Blackwell, Wesley Hardin Ethridge, George Wesley Blackwell III, Sandra Nicole Blackwell, Tracy Sephronia Blackwell and Karen Renee Blackwell.

Darrel is survived by his daughter, Amanda Blackwell Tones of Groves, TX, his brothers, Andrew Michael Blackwell and his wife, Chris of Ragley, LA, Jeff Ethridge and his wife, Raina of Bulverde, TX, his grandchildren, Mikayla Blackwell, Jarrod Blackwell, Isaiah Blackwell, Bexley Blackwell and his step-son, Hubbart Lee Hardin III of Bridge City, TX.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
