Conrad Paul Saltzman, 75, of Groves, Texas, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 25, 1949, in Abbeville, Louisiana. Conrad lived a life marked by service, devotion, and warmth.
A proud veteran, Conrad served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War for several years. His dedication to his country was a testament to his character, embodying the values of honor and commitment. After his military service, he pursued a fulfilling career as a mud consultant in the oilfield, where he retired after many years of hard work and dedication.
Conrad was known for his sweet disposition and strong family orientation, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including savoring his morning coffee and enjoying Sci-Fi movies. These personal interests reflected his unique character and brought happiness to his everyday experiences.
He is survived by his children, Carla Petry and her husband Kenneth of Groves; Christopher Saltzman of Groves, Cody Saltzman of Port Neches, and Marie Lang of Michigan. Conrad took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Kendi, Kirea, Logan, Lexan, Waverly, and Gabe, and cherished his great-grandchild, Cedar. His legacy is carried on through these loving family members.
Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, Mable (Adams) Saltzman and Wilman P. Saltzman, Sr.; his beloved wife, Deborah (LeCompte) Saltzman; sisters, Tina Saltzman and Cynthia Richard; and a brother, Adam Saltzman. The loss of these family members is felt deeply, and their memory lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Military Honors to be conducted at 6:00 p.m., at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home, located at 5200 W. Parkway St., Groves, TX 77619. Military honors provided by the Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group.
Conrad Paul Saltzman will be remembered fondly for his numerous contributions to family, friends, and his community. His spirit and love for those around him will continue to resonate within the lives he touched.
