Charles "Chuck" Marc Johnson

October 5, 1954 — April 29, 2024

Chuck (Charles) Marc Johnson passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of April 29, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Chuck Johnson was born October 5, 1954, in California.  He was soon adopted by his loving parents, Doran and Millie (Mildred) Johnson. Chuck was welcomed home in Provo Utah by his very excited big sister and brother.  His addition made the Johnson family complete.

Chuck was a rambunctious little boy that kept his parents on their toes. He and Randy were a force to reckon with and remained the best of friends until Randy’s passing.

Chuck graduated from Provo High in May of 1972.  He started his family early by marrying Claudia Hechtle. They welcomed his first of 2 daughters in August of 1972. Soon after that he joined the Army but sadly was injured in basic training which cut his time with the military short.

In March of 1980 Chuck moved to Milford, Utah with his then wife Melodie. The couple welcomed his second daughter Tiffany in March of 1981. In 1982 Chuck started his career in law enforcement by attending POST.  He then became a deputy where he served Milford, Utah in Beaver County for 6 years. While serving as a deputy he brought the DARE program to Milford and held the position of “Officer Friendly” for a few years, educating school kids about the dangers of drugs. He even arranged for the crash test dummies Larry and Vince to speak at the local elementary school about the importance of safety belts. In 1988 Chuck accepted a new career with the US Customs Border Protection Agency in Laredo Texas. Chuck remained in Laredo for a few years before transferring to Brownsville, TX. He loved working the “bridge” and talked about it often. He finished his career at the Brownsville airport. He retired from the US Customs and Border Protection Agency in October of 2014.

Chuck married DebraJo Ollervides on April 22, 2000. They remained in Brownsville until his retirement. After retiring they decided to live the RV life by purchasing a large 5th wheel. They moved to Arroya City TX where they lived at the Hummingbird Cove Trailer Park where Chuck took on the roll of manager. He remained manager for over 8 years. Living at Hummingbird Cove gave Chuck the opportunity to do one of the things he loved most FISH! He spent all his free time on the lake fishing.

Chuck and DJ loved to ride his Harley and did so at every opportunity. He was a member of a local law enforcement biker club, the Iron Hogs where he was the Sargent-At-Arms and affectionately known as “Ironman”. He attended many rallies, including Sturgis many times. One of his bucket list items was to ride his bike in every state. He loved to ride and was heartbroken when his back just wouldn’t allow it anymore.

After being diagnosed with cancer he and his wife decided to move closer to medical care, so they purchased a house and moved to Nederland TX in November of 2022.

Chuck was always a jokester and the most sarcastic person in the room. He brought a smile to all that knew him with his quick wit and easy-going personality. He was always the life of the party and always the funniest person in the room. He was a big man with an even bigger personality. He leaves behind many friends, and we are sure he will be sorely missed by all vodka companies around the world.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Doran and Millie (Mildred) Gould, stepfather, William Gould, daughter, Tara Johnson and brother, Randall Johnson.

He is survived by his wife, DebraJo Johnson, daughter, Tiffany (Mike) Mayer, sister, Sue Ann (Ramon) Sanft, stepdaughter, Cori (Jay) Peña, grandson, Ryan Mayer, granddaughter, Trinity Mayer, step grandchildren, Josephine Peña and Callam Peña and many nieces & nephews.

The family is horning Chuck's wishes to be cremated and with no services.
