Charles Joseph Anselmo, Sr.

Charles Joseph Anselmo, Sr., 81, of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
He was born on August 11, 1939 in Port Arthur, Texas to his parents, Joseph Anselmo and Lena DeJohn Anselmo. Charles was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School. He earned his degree in Pharmacy from the University of Houston. Charles was the owner and operator of Cambridge Pharmacy in Groves. After retirement, he worked at Market Basket Pharmacy and Lovoi and Sons Pharmacy in Beaumont. He served as President of the American-Italian Cultural Club and a life time member of the Knights of Columbus. Charles was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. James Catholic Church. He had a deep passion for his faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Jean Ann Modica Mosley-Anselmo of Port Neches; his daughter, Frannie Chatagnier and her husband, Ron of Port Arthur; his two sons, Charles J. Anselmo, Jr. and his wife, Cindi of Groves, Anthony Anselmo, Sr. and his wife, Connie of Groves; his step-daughter, Ashley McGehee and her husband, Mark of Evergreen, Colorado; his step-son, Richard Taylor Mosley of Norman, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Jessica Anselmo White, Katy Hearne-Church, Chas Anselmo, Anthony Anselmo, Jr., Victoria Anselmo, Blake Chatagnier, Blair Chatagnier, Brody Chatagnier; his step grandchildren, Todd Mosley, Moira Mosley, Maddie McGehee, Jackson McGehee and Kristle Berry; his two great-grandchildren, Mila and Brexton White. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Anselmo and his wife, Sparkle of Port Neches along with several nieces and nephews.
Of all the things in his life, his greatest love was his family. He put his family above all else and taught his children to do the same. This was his gift. He was admired, honored and respected by his family. His love and traditions will be remembered and shared for generations to come.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. David Edwards, serving as celebrant. Entombment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family request donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association in the memory of Charles. The family request all individuals attending the visitation and service to wear a face mask or facial covering for everybody‘s concern.
