Charlene Spikes Brown 83, of Port Acres passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Charlene Brown was born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 30, 1936 to parents Richard and Azaline Spikes. She spent most of her life in Port Arthur. Charlene graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1955, where she met the love of her life Jack Brown (Jackie Meaux), they married in 1955 and spent 20 years in the US Air Force raising 5 children. After Jack’s retirements they moved back to Port Arthur where she worked for the Port Arthur Independent School District, after she retired from PAISD, Charlene became the owner of Wolf’n Diller Costume Rental in Port Arthur.
Preceding Charlene in death were her parents Richard and Azaline Spikes and her grandchild, Elizabeth Rhea Brown.
Charlene is survived by her sweetheart Jack Brown and her precious dog, Teddy, her children, Mike Brown and his wife, Tina of Bastrop, LA, Craig Brown and his wife, Gala of Groves, TX, Tammy Talbot and her husband, Troy of Nederland, TX, Ken Brown and his wife, Tara of Mansfield, LA, Kim Brown of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and her grandchildren, April Carson, Jack Brown, Wayne Talbot, Ashlea Curtice, Bradley Brown, her four great grandsons, Clay Curtice, Conner Curtice, Roderick Carson and Colby Curtice.
She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Billie Jo Jeanis and her husband, Carroll.
A gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Faith Harbor Assembly of God Church, 5901 Jade Ave., Port Arthur, Texas, with a service to honor Charlene’s life to follow.
