Carlene Ann Carlton, 81, of Groves, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2018 at Bonne Vie Nursing Center in Port Arthur.

She was born on January 12, 1937 to her parents, Carl Safford and Noilene Warren Safford in Port Arthur, Texas. Carlene was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in 1955 and Port Arthur Business College. Carlene retired from the City of Port Arthur in the Public Works Administration Department after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carlene is survived by her loving husband, James Robert Carlton, Jr. of Groves, her son, James Michael Carlton of Groves along with extended family members.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Graveside service will be on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson.
