Camilla Acosta Richard, 72, of Zavalla, Texas and former resident of Bridge City, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Harbor Hospice House in Jasper.
She was born on May 31, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas. Camilla graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and Lamar State College- Orange. She was employed at Chevron Chemical in Orange in various clerical roles for over 20 years. She then retired from Lanxess in Orange as a customer service representative.
Camilla was preceded in death by her parents, Celia Castañeda and James R. Acosta, Sr.. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Delores Richard, and her father-in-law, Richard R. Richard, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Rick” Richard, Jr. of Zavalla and her beloved daughter, Olivia Richard Simmons of Port Neches.
She is also survived by her sisters, Claudia Acosta and husband Terrance Adamson of Lake Jackson, Clarissa Koederitz of Gretna, Louisiana; her brothers, Ricardo Ramos and wife Ana Ramos of The Woodlands, James Acosta, Jr. of Waco, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Camilla’s life will follow at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Arrangements for cremation are entrusted to Clayton Thompson.
