Annette Ann George

Annette Ann George, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away peacefully Friday September 1, 2023, at the Focused Care Summer Place in Beaumont, TX.  She was the daughter of Lawless Adam Rodriguez and Mable Boudreaux Rodriguez born on September 12, 1935, in Port Arthur, TX.  Annette graduated from Bishop Byrne High School in the class of 1953, she received her secretarial degree from Port Arthur College and began working for the Gulf Oil Refinery in the administration department.  In 1955 she married A.J. George, they raised three children and spent 59 years together until his death in 2014.

Annette enjoyed spending time together with family and friends at their camp on Lake Sam Rayburn and traveling.  She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many people.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lawless and Mabel Rodriguez and husband A.J. George.  She is survived by her children: son, Scott George of Lumberton, TX, daughter Shelley Chesser George of Fannett, TX, and son, Shawn George and wife Traci of Mont Belvieu, TX, grandchildren, Tanner George of Lumberton, TX, Kacyn and Gage George of Mont Belvieu, TX, great grandchild Abigail George of Lumberton, TX.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. A rosary will be prayed at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the funeral home, with a Christian Burial Service to follow at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
