David Y. Timms

January 31, 1915 - January 26, 2009

David Y. Timms, 93, of Groves, Texas and a former resident of Sabine Pass passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born January 31, 1915 in Winnsboro, South Carolina to Susie and David Timms. He lived in Sabine Pass from 1955 to 2005 and relocated to Groves after Hurricane Rita. David worked as a carpenter by trade and retired from Menhaden Fish Plant as a superintendent after 45 years of service. He was a member of Sabine Pass Methodist Church and Dick Dowling Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Thomas Timms and Daniel Timms. He is survived by his loving wife Adelia Halter Timms of Groves, Texas, his sons Daniel Timms and his wife Polly of Fannett, Texas, David Timms of Simi Valley, California, three grandchildren Steven Timms, Shelly Wilkins and Theresa Boyer. He is also survived by three great grandchildren William Timms, Daniel Timms and Nolan Wilkins along with his brother Joe Timms of Conway, South Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
