James Benjamin "J. B." Foxworth Mire James Benjamin "J.B." Foxworth Mire, 94, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2009 in Port Arthur. He was born December 20, 1914 in Hixbaugh, Texas to Lela Garner Mire and and Julius Foxworth and was later adopted by Warren Andrew Mire. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII as radio repairman. J. B. retired from Carpenters Local #610 as a carpenter with over 30 years of service. He was an inventor, electrician and capable of doing almost anything. He was a member of Aldsergate Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, February 20, 2009 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson with Rev. Joy Richards, pastor of Aldergate Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Esther Duncan, his wife Renata Mire and his son James A. "Buddy" Mire. He is survived by his daughter Gloria Walker of Austin, Texas, grandchildren Kevin Laird of Kountze, Texas, Randy Mire of Seabrook, Texas, Audrey Sikes and Johnny Walker both of Austin, Texas along with 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
