Jackie Allen Carlquist, age 75, was born September 6, 1933 in Port Arthur, Texas.He went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2009. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1952. He was employed by Gulf Oil as an electrician for 36 years. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 390. Jackie was a respected Deputy Marshall and was later elected as a City Councilman for 6 years in Lakeview. He was a former member of the Lakeview Volunteer Fire Department. He also served as Vice President & President of the Optimist Little League Southern Division. One of the most enjoyable memories was when he was the manager of the band "The Blue Crystals" in 1968. He was a member of the United Methodist Temple Church of Port Arthur. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rita Carlquist of 23 years. Daughters, Pamela Carlquist Hebert of Nederland, Texas, Gail Graham of Groves, Texas ans Susie Phillips and husband Chuck of Lafayette, Louisiana. Sons, Rudy Carlquist and wife Sharon of Sulphur, Louisiana, Donnie Carlquist and wife Cookie of Austin, Texas,Kelly Carlquist and wife Amy of Beaumont, Texas, Mike Bowden of Lafayette, Louisiana and Steve Bowden and his wife Kim of Mobile, Alabama. He is also survived by his sister Dodie Reichle of Nederland, Texas. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandsons, Heath Hebert and wife Erin, Jason Carlquist, Collin Boudreaux, Joshua Bowden and Ben Bowden. Granddaughters Heather Holder, Stephanie Ford, Sonya Bickley, Cheri Carlquist, Cassie Carlquist, Karlie Carlquist, Kelsie Carlquist, Gabrelle Bowden, Ashley Martin and 13 Great Grandchildren and the mother of his children, Cherry Carlquist Graham and her husband the late Ray E. Graham along with many nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice Carlquist, father Roy Carlquist, Sr., brother Roy Carlquist, Jr. and sisters Lurlene Beach and IdaNell Doty.
