Maisie Dilbert Yakie, 81, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, March 16, 2009 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. She was born September 15, 1927 to Nora Watler Dilbert and Thomas Nathaniel Dilbert in Grand Cayman, British West Indies. She has been a resident of Port Arthur for over 53 years. Maisie attended and graduated from Port Arthur Business College. She worked as an office manager at Binswanger Glass Company for several years. She also opened and managed the S & H Green Stamp Redemption center for 8 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Visitation will be on Wednesday March 18, 2009 from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson with Rev. Margaret Desmond, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norma Huckabay and her husband Perry, her brother Meredith N. Dilbert. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Jack Yakie of Port Arthur, Texas,Her niece Lana Folkenson and her husband Terry of Port Arthur, Texas, great nephew Philip LaQuey of Port Arthur, Texas and great niece Angela Umphrey of Canyon Lake, Texas, her sister-in-law Nina Dilbert along with several other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
