Charles L. Borel, 83, of Spring, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at his home in Spring, Texas. He was born February 10, 1926 in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Charles lived in the Port Arthur area for most of his life, before moving to Spring a few weeks ago. He worked at Gulf as a tug boat captain for over 12 years and retired from Texaco Marine division as a tug boat captain after 16 years of service. He served in the United States Marine Corp during WW II. Charles was a member of the Baptist faith. Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Hattie Borel of Spring, Texas, son Robb Borel and his wife Glynis of Spring, Texas, son David Milazzo of Hartburg, Texas, daughter Linda Bourque of Huntsville, Texas, son Ronnie Arledge of Shelbyville, Texas, daughter Lois Metts of United Kingdom, son James Arledge of Hemphill, Texas, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with his brother Henry H. Borel of Lafayette, Louisiana as well as several nieces and nephews.
