Henry Larcade, 76, of Port Arthur passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 1, 1933 to Anna Mae Couvillion Larcade and Henry Larcade, Sr. in Port Arthur. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1950. Henry served in the U. S. Air Force and graduated from Lamar Tech in 1956. He taught at Bridge City High School for two years. He was a radio personality with KPNG, KPAC in the 1950's. He worked as a television personality with KBMT Channel 12 in Beaumont in the early 1960's, where he did nightly weather broadcast and hosted the children's program "Colonel Candy Cane". Henry later worked as on air personality at KP AC Channel 4 in Port Arthur until 1969, where he did the weather broadcast and hosted the area's first daytime talk show' Comments". He was also known as "Mr. Fortune" on" dialing for Dollars". He concluded his professional career at Ameripol Synpol, retiring from the Human Resources Department in 1997. Henry was also the play by play radio announcer for Thomas Jefferson High School football games during the 1960's and 1970's, and was known as the "Voice of the Yellow Jackets". Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Anna Mae Larcade and his sister Gloria Wood. He is survived by his loving wife Lou Larcade of Port Arthur, sons Andy Larcade and wife Stephanie of Fannett, Daniel Larcade, Sr. and wife Michele of Port Arthur, Chris Larcade and wife Molly of Port Arthur, grandchildren Amy, Michael, Daniel Jr., Alex and Will along with his sister Sandra Griner of Warren. Henry was always happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and loving wife of 53 years.
