Anthony Joseph "Sonny" Arisco passed away on September 4, 2009 at his home. Born April 7, 1931 to Annie Chiuminetta Arisco and Tony Arisco in Port Arthur, Texas. He went to St. Mary Catholic School and graduated from Bishop Byrne High School. There he particiapted in sports and enjoyed sports all of his life. Sonny served in the 136th Air National Guard. He retired from Texaco Refinery after 42 years of service. He lived and loved Port Arthur until he and his wife,Joyce retired to Crystal Beach. They returned to Port Neches about a year ago and are members of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Sonny is survived by his wife Joyce Smith Arisco. Together they enjoyed raising thier 3 daughters. His daughters and son-in-laws he loved as though his own are Kim and Buster Stelly of Port Neches, Kristy and Eugene Reavis of Anahuac, Konnie and Ricky Matte of Diana, Texas. Thier grandchildren became the center of thier lives. Wathing baseball, basketball, golf and dance recitals became thier past time. Education was very important to Sonny and talked about this very often to his grandchildren. He died knowing that all four of them graduated from college. They loved thier Pa-Pa very much. His grandchildren are Ryan and his wife Lacie Turner Stelly of Youngsville, La., Blaine Matte of Austin, Tracey Stelly of Houston, Jamey Matte of Beaumont. Sonny leaves behind two sisters Mary Ann Kennedy and husband Joe of Nederland and Rose Hood and husband Marvin of Nederland. He will also be missed by Joyce's siblings Ray and Dorothy Smith of Groves and Wilma Cesak of Houston along with many nieces and nephews.
