Donna Jean Jones

April 12, 1923 - September 25, 2009

Donna Morrissey Jones passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009, after a brief illness. Donna was born to Raymond and Jean Morrissey on April 12, 1923, in Madison, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin studying business. Donna met her husband Bill while he was stationed in Madison during WWII. They married in 1946 and moved back to Bill's home in Port Arthur, Texas. She was an active volunteer in Port Arthur schools and her parish of Saint James Catholic Church. In 1976, Donna and Bill opened Jones Greenhouse. They transformed their love of plants and people into a thriving business serving Port Arthur residents for over twenty years. Donna is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-two years Bill, her parents, two sisters and one brother. Donna is survived by her son Bill Jones Jr. and wife Gail of Port Neches, daughter Cathy Kasper and her husband David of Houston. In addition, she has three grandchildren Jennifer Bernard and husband Jay of Nederland, Holly Blank and husband Matt of Eagle, CO, Kimberly Evans and husband Chris of Houston and one great- granddaughter Ava Blank. She also is survived by her sister-in-law Ruby Jones of Port Arthur and her children Bob Jones and Elizabeth McDaniel, along with several nieces and nephews as well as her caregiver Barbara Jenkins of Port Arthur. Donna's loved ones are comforted knowing that she is happily reunited with the love of her life.
