Winnie Marie Trahan Fontenot, 86, of Port Acres passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Cypress Glen Nursing Home in Port Arthur. She was born March 14, 1923 to Margaret Benoit Trahan and Onezime Trahan in Cameron, Louisiana. She has been a resident of Port Arthur since 1942. Winnie was very active in her church, St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic where she was a Eucharistic Minister, member of St. Mary Altar Society and Diocese of Beaumont Bishop Faith Appeal. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Christus St. Mary Hospital. She was a member of the K.C. Ettes in Port Acres and the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Bernice Trahan, brother Wilson Trahan and her loving husband Alonzo "Babe" Fontenot; great granddaughter Alexandra Wright Winnie is survived by her daughter Mary Jo LeBouef of Lake Charles, Louisiana, son Kevin Fontenot and wife Karen of Port Arthur, four grandchildren Chris Glaze, Brian Glaze, Alana Fontenot and Misty Womack, great grandchildren Allie Glaze, Austin Glaze, Alyssa Glaze, Conner Glaze, Brayden Blacketer and Fianna Wright. She is also survived by her sisters Iola Smith of Port Arthur, Lorena Hebert of Grand Lake, Louisiana and Betty LaBove of Creole, Louisiana along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. In Lieu of Flowers, family would like memorial contributions to be made to St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church Building Fund or the Knights of Columbus Council #3195 in Port Acres in memory of Winnie.
