Lucille M. Brown, 89, of Bridge City passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born March 30, 1920 to John F. Messer and Rhoda Bond Messer in Elizabeth, Louisiana. Lucille and her husband Cecil operated the Brown's Roller Rink in Bridge City for many years. She was a longtime member of United Pentecostal Church in Bridge City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Clo Guidroz and her husband Cecil R. Brown. She is survived by her daughter Irene Brown Carr of Bridge City, two sons C. R. Brown (Ruth) of DeQuincy, LA. and Gene Brown of Bridge City, five grandchildren Robert Brown, Terry Brown, Jonathan Brown, Bonnie Brown and Bethany Brown, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She is also survived by her two sisters Sarah Lee Hammett (James) of Deadwood, SD. and Jimmie Lee Hilburn (Von) of Hatch, NM., brother Shannon Messer of Bridge City along with several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
