Ellis S. Barbosa

Ellis "Bobo" S. Barbosa, 86, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday November 27, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 27, 1923 to Leo and Carmen "Salazar" Barbosa in Port Arthur, Texas. Ellis was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and Groves. He served our country in the US Army during WW II. Ellis retired from Gulf Oil as a Water Treater after 56 years of service. He was a member of Templo Bautista Church in Groves and also Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lupe Dominguez, brothers, Mike S. Barbosa, Johnny S. Barbosa and Jessie S. Barbosa. He is survived by his wife Estelle Barbosa of Groves, Texas, daughter, Deborah Newsom of Groves, TX., son, Isaac Barbosa and wife Irene of Groves, TX,. grandchildren, Lewis R Newsom, Isaac David Barbosa Rebekah Elizabeth Barbosa, James, Robby and John Mosley, great grandchildren Lewis R. Newsom, Jr. and James Ellis Newsom, brother, Roy Barbosa and wife Mercedes of Beaumont, TX., as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
