Walter L. Brown, 82, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday December 4, 2009 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur. He was born December 27, 1926 to Myrtle Gauthier Brown and William Brown in Evergreen, Louisiana. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII from 1943 to 1948. Walter served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952. He moved to Port Arthur in 1953 to begin his career with Gulf Oil until his retirement in 1984, after 31 years of service. He was a member of St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Thelma Brown, brother Alan Hickson, his wife Flora C. Brown. Walter is survived by his sons Mark W. Brown and wife Rachel of Port Arthur, Michael Brown of Port Arthur, grandchildren, Blaze, Slate, Michael Jr., Brandi and Josh Brown, great grandchildren, Hailey and Camdyn Brown his brother Larry Brown of England along with several nieces and nephews.
