Sosthene "S. J." Joseph Hebert, 86, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1923 to Adelaide Lemaire Hebert and Gerard Hebert in Abbeville, Louisiana. He has been a resident of the Port Arthur area for over 70 years. S. J. served in the U. S. Navy on a minesweeper during WWII. He worked as operator for Ellerbee Brothers, Anderson Trucking, Graver Construction Company, CBI- Chicago Bridge and Iron and Friendship Baptist Church with over 60 years of service. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #450 and Friendship Baptist Church. S. J. was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Anna Hebert, his brothers Alpha and Audelle Hebert, his first wife Anne Bostick Hebert. He is survived by his loving wife Nealie Owens Hebert of Port Arthur, daughters Carrie Hebert of Mauriceville, Betty Wind and husband Doug of Crystal Beach, Sydney Day and friend Jimmy Simmons of Bridge City, Cheyenne Collier and husband Vernon of Bridge City, son Val Albright and wife Rita of Dallas. He is also survived by his grandchildren State Rep. Mike Hamilton and wife Terry, Paula Anne Adams and husband Ricky, Kip Hamilton and wife Cara, Ginger Provost and husband Reagan, Greg Hamilton and wife Colinda, Blaine Hamilton and wife Alicia, Tessie Anne Malone, Jim Thibodeaux, Denise Day, Amber Day, Valerie Albright, Jeremy Albright, Carri Johnson, Max Collier, Christi Collier, Brad Collier and Tanner Collier, 26 Great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren as well as his brother Antoine Hebert and wife Bessie of Maurice, Louisiana, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
