Jerrel "Jerry" Lyday, 84, passed Saturday, March 27, 2010 at his son's home in Luling, LA. Jerry was born to Henry and Ruth Lyday, August 24, 1925 in Graham, Texas. Jerry grew up on a farm with four brothers and two sisters in Honey Grove,TX then went on to serve his country in the US Navy during WWII. After the war he started his 31 year career with the Gulf Oil Refinery. He was a standing member of the VFW and OCAW. Throughout his later years Jerry lived at Sam Rayburn Lake where he could enjoy his favorite things: Family, Friends and Fishing. His Family writes: "Jerry, Daddy, Pawpaw; such small words to describe such a great man. Thank you for being such an inspiration in all our lives. We treasure each moment spent with you." Jerry Lyday is survived by his wife Ruby, sister Joann Lyday, three sons, David, Kenneth, Kevin and daughter-in-law Charlotte. He will be greatly missed by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
