Rita Garcia

October 31, 1931 - July 8, 2010

Rita Ortega Garcia was called home to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on July 8, 2010 surrounded by her loving family/friends that loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Soledad Ortega, her husband Deacon Roy Garcia, Sr., sister Annie Ortega, brothers Felo, Richard and Tony Ortega. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Suzanne, Cyndi, Roy Garcia, Jr. (Sandra) and Raymond (Stacy) Garcia, her grandchildren Miguel (Kellie), Danielle and Lauren Garcia, great grandchildren Ethan and Cheyenne Garcia, her sisters Carmen (Joe) Escobedo and Lola (Jessie) Soliz along with numerous nieces and nephews. We gratefully thank all family/friends, St. Mary Hospital Staff and Harbor Hospice who helped her/us in our time of need. Thank you Heavenly Father for giving us such a strong woman of integrity that blessed our lives with faith, hope and love-the greatest of which was love. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her, but never forgotten. A faithful servant who loved the Lord her God with all her heart, soul and strength. Mother we will always love you-your family. Rita was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in1949, she was extremely active at her church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she served in the Choir, member of the Altar Society and Las Damas Guadalupanas, the bereavement committee, the Senior Citizens Group, the Birthday Club and the Widows Club.
