Melvin S. Chaddrick, 93, of Groves, Texas passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He was born April 14, 1917 to Lillie Hebert Chaddrick and Robert Chaddrick in Turkey Creek, Louisiana. Melvin served in the United States Army during WWII, where he was wounded in action during Operation Cobra near St. Lo, France and received the Purple Heart. Melvin was a retired Cement Mason that worked out of the local Cement Mason union for over 47 years, he worked at refineries from Houston to Baton Rouge. He was a member of Church of Christ-Gulf in Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents, all eleven of his siblings and his wife, Lillie Mae Chaddrick. He is survived by his sons, Bob Chaddrick and his wife Carol of Sugar Land, Texas, Ronald Chaddrick and his wife Rae Lee of Broaddus, Texas, Danny Chaddrick and his wife Charlotte of Bridge City, Texas, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
