Bernice E. Page, 92 of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Groves, Texas. She was born on May 15, 1918 to James M. Ponder and Maudie Carroll Ponder in Caldwell, Texas. Bernice was a resident of Port Arthur for over 70 years. She graduated from Caldwell High School and was a full time homemaker and was a member of the Baptist faith. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vernon B Page and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Robert G. Page and wife Sue of Kirbyville, Texas, grandchildren, Jennifer Burnham and husband Jimmy of Port Neches, Amy Page of Groves and step-granddaughter, Jamie Tomplait and husband Paul of Kirbyville, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, William Ponder of Monterey, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. A graveside funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves, Texas.
