Eva Jo Gordon

November 13, 1950 - October 2, 2010

Eva Jo Gordon, 59, of Port Neches, peacefully passed away on Saturday morning October 2 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Bill Gordon, and her parents, Clyde and Juanita Sherrod. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Donavon and Christi Gordon of Groves, son Thad Gordon of Port Neches, and two grandsons Chase and Colby Gordon. She is also survived by two brothers, Billy Sherrod, Fred Sherrod and wife Verna of Wildwood, and a sister Sandra Garrett and husband Mike of Orange, and several nieces and nephews. Eva was born in Center, Texas, on November 13, 1950. They moved to West Orange when she was a child where she lived her teenage years and met the love of her life, Bill. They married and moved to Port Neches where they raised their two sons. She worked as a telemetry ICU tech at St. Elizabeth's and Doctors Hospital for several years, but she was happiest at just being a housewife and mother. Eva was very proud of her family, especially her two grandsons, Colby and Chase. She was blessed with many wonderful friends, especially Paula. She was loved by all her family and friends. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, and she always hosted a Christmas Eve party for all that wanted to attend. She was a very dedicated mother and always had an open house to everyone and was a second mother to many of her sons' friends as well. Then her grandchildren became the light of her life. She often bragged on Chase's speed and agility at soccer, and don't get her started on Colby, the cowboy that does horse shows and sing's country and western. Everyone who knew her is comforted by the fact that she and her beloved husband are finally reunited. Serving as pall bearers are Bryan Garrett, Mike Garrett, Jeff Sherrod, Gary Sherrod, Alex Gordon, David Gordon, Ricky Jones, and Brook McClain.
