Joel Kenneth Pruitt

Joel Kenneth Pruitt, age 85, died in Groves, Texas, on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Born January 1, 1925, in Pearson, Oklahoma, he lived in Joplin, Mo, Conway, AK and Texarkana, TX before settling in Port Arthur, TX. He worked for JC Penney as the Advertising and Display Manager and then worked for Allstate Insurance for 32 years retiring as a Senior Account Manager in 1985. Kenneth, along with his wife, Jo spent their life taking care of, and raising their three sons in a Christian lifestyle. Many will remember him for his giving spirit and his laughter. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur, TX. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Jo Pruitt and three sons and their wives, Mike and Michele Pruitt of Euless, TX, Rick and Melody Pruitt of Houston, TX and Paul and Kelly Pruitt of Groves, TX. There are six grandchildren, Brittany Pruitt, Mitch Pruitt, Andy & Lauren Adams, Jenny Adams, Kyle & Jocelyn Pruitt and Rion Pruitt. There are also two Great-Grandchildren, Dillian and Lyla Pruitt.He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Piper of Joplin, MO. and his brothers, Carlin Pruitt of Broken Arrow, OK. and Glendon Pruitt of Neosho, MO. along with niece, Deanna Kenney of Joplin, MO.
