Margaret deLong Mason LeBlanc, 96 of Pflugerville, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Margaret was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 13, 1914 and grew up in Mena, Arkansas where her father worked for the KCS railroad which eventually brought her to Port Arthur. She was a graduate of Touro Infirmery School of Nursing in New Orleans, La. After nursing school, she moved to Port Arthur where she worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Harris Hosen and Park Place Hospital as head of pediatric nursing. She met and married J. Marshall LeBlanc, Sr who preceded her in death and together they operated LeBlanc Radiator Service in Port Arthur on Procter Street until their retirement in 1977. In retirement they moved to Magnolia Springs, Texas where she and Marshall lived raising anything that would grow which they shared with friends and family. She avidly knitted slippers for children of all ages from 100 down to premies and sent thousands of pair to the Scottish Rite Childrens hospital in Dallas. She continued sending her slippers to children her entire life. At age 93 in 2007 she was awarded the Jefferson Award For Excellence In Service to Mankind sponsored by the Beaumont Enterprise for her many years of continuous community service to her fellowman. She is survived by three sons John Marshall LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Susan of Bridge City and daughters Kathleen and Allison; Jerry Wayne LeBlanc and wife Kay of Durango, Co and son Jerry Jr. and daughter Amanda and Paul Arthur LeBlanc and wife Kathe of Pflugerville and sons Justin and Jacob, and six great grandchildren.
