Blanca J. Castro

Blanca J. Castro, 87, of Groves, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born August 12, 1923 in La Ceiba, Honduras and became a U. S. Citizen. She has been a resident of the Groves for 40 years and a resident of Port Arthur for 18 years. Blanca was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Senior Citizens and Damas de Guadalupanas. She was very active in Ladies LULAC Council #228. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Saul E. Castro and her daughter, Sandra Pamela Castro. Blanca is survived by her daughters, Carla Hass of Port Neches, Texas, Diana Harvey and husband Gary of Nederland, Texas, Belinda Scoggin and husband Allen of Nederland, Texas, her sons, Hugo Castro of Houston, Texas and Rene Castro and his wife Rita of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister, Ondina Padilla and husband Lorenzo of Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews.
