Avery Simon, Jr.

Avery Simon, Jr., 87, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves. He was born November 3, 1923 to Lula Comeaux Simon and Avery Simon, Sr. in Kaplan, Louisiana. He was a resident of the Port Arthur/Groves area for 58 years. Avery served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Pearl Harbor. He retired from Gulf/Chevron as a supervisor after 32 ½ years of service. Avery was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves and a Third Degree Member of The Knights of Columbus Council #3491 in Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Adley Simon. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca White of Kaplan, Louisiana, Shelly Bordonaro and husband Kevin of Port Arthur, his son, Glen Simon of Groves, Texas along with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
