James W. Weddell, 87, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Magnolia Manor in Groves. He was born on May 19, 1925 to Gladys Diddle Weddell and Lester Weddell in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of the area. James served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Texaco as a machinist after 38 years of service. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant/Providence Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Florence Davies Weddell of Port Arthur, Texas, his daughter, Beth Thompson and husband Bryan of Nederland, Texas, his son, Michael J. Weddell of Port Arthur, Texas, grandchildren, Kelli Johnson and husband Brad, Kevin Thompson and wife Julia, Kristin Cook and husband Brandon, great grandchildren, Brianna, Will, Emily and Luke Johnson, Haley Martin, Hannah and Seth Thompson and Finley Cook. In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity in memory of James. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Staff of Magnolia Manor in Groves for their excellent care.
