M. . C. "Red" Garrison, JR. Red Garrison was born on Jan. 26, 1920. He went home July 9, 2012. A Thomas Jefferson High School graduate, he went on to attend A& M University before enlisting in the U. S. Army where he would become a shooting instructor, a tank instructor, a Lt. and eventally even a C-47 pilot. He and his wife Irene "Puddin" were married over 70 years and owned and operated Garrison's Flower Shop for over 60 of them. He went on to become the president of Texas State Florist Association and Director of Floral Transworld Delivery. He was a longtime member of Port Arthur Rotary Club and American Legion Post #7. An avid outdoorsman, carpenter, hunter and great grandfather, he considered his greatest achievement his family. Red will be forever cherished as a soldier, craftsman, teacher and patriarch. He is preceded in death by his son, Jud. He is survived by his wife, Irene, his children, Mike and Julie, grandchildren, Shelby, Keaton and Aaron, great grandchildren, Hannah, Izakk, Emilee, Ryann "Cotton" and Luke "Buddy".
